In order to grasp the important opportunities for the state to build a Silk Road Economic Belt and a 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Yangtze River Economic Belt and Shanghai Free Trade Zone, Huzhou City makes efforts to investigate and plan, integrates with Great Shanghai and merges into Yangtze River Delta, and participates in the new round of opening up to the outside world aggressively. The works of foreign Investment, foreign trade, foreign economic relations and service outsourcing in Huzhou are advanced joinly. The policy that promotes the development of open economy have been unveiled and implemented in an all-round way. The comprehensive service platform for foreign trade and the across-boarder e-commerce industrial park have been set up in Huzhou. The total volume of imports and exports in 2014 achieved 9,989 million US dollars, increaing by 4.8% compared with the previous year. The realized foreign investment in 2014 amounted to 980 million US dollars.
The development zones and industrial parks of Huzhou are enhancing its capabilities as investment platforms. The gathering effects in the development zones and industrial parks have further shown up. Now there are two national-level economic and technology development zones in Huzhou and Changxing, and one provincial-level industrial agglomerating park.
