Feiying Park, known for Feiying Pagoda, began to build in 1996 and opened to the public on the first day of Feb, 1997. The park, the new emerging place of interest in Huzhou, is located in the northeast of Huzhou City, which is the famous history and culture scenic spot. It is named after Feiying Pagoda, a relic site under nation’s key protection.
The investment of the 3-hectare park is RMB 34,000,000. In the park, besides the Feiying Pagoda—a relic site under nation’s key protection, there are many precious historical relics of Huzhou through many years. The front door of the park is a red door with three-line eaves, and the horizontal inscribed board was wrote by Shen Peng, chairman of Chinese Calligrapher’s Association. There is a large stone screen inscribed four characters—“Feiying Beautiful Scenes”. In the middle, there are new-built Feiying Hall and Feiying Pagoda. On the left, It is Yunhai Building, built for memorizing Huzhou Governor Yan Zhenqing who compiled large-scale dictionary—Yunhai JingYuan, the Excellent Instick Pavilion, which began to build in Xining 5 years of Song Dynasty (1072), when the Huzhou Governor Sun Jue collected the old steles from Han and Tang Dynasty and built a pavilion to store, and his close friend, Su Shi, wrote a composition named A Record of the Excellent Instick Pavilion. Nowadays, the pavilion has 13 of Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties’ steles, among which Zhao Yong (the son of Zhao Mengfu) wrote A Record of Rebuilding Huzhou is the most precious in Zhizheng 6 years of Yuan Dynasty. On the right, it is “Xiguan Waiting for the Moon” House. Liang of the Nan Dynasty’s governor, Yin Chen lived here, which was the former residence of Xie An, the famous East Jin’s prime minister, Tang Dynasty’s governor Yan Zhenqing changed the name into Xiguan House. In the west of Feiying Pagoda, it is “Six Guests Drinking in the Autumn”. Huzhou Six Guests Hall began to built between Zhiping and Xining of Northern Song Dynasty, because there were six famous men of letters meeting the garden of the governor’s house, among which Su Dongpo one came here twice.To Southern Song Dynasty, a poet named Wang Shipeng as the governor of Houzhou, wrote a long poem to eulogize it.
