Good news recently came from the special aquaculture base in Ganquan Town, the Third Regiment of Alar City, the First Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the banks of the Tarim River. After more than 150 days of growth, special aquatic products with high economic value such as Macrobrachium rosenbergii and Leucosia whitei from Wuxing District have had a bumper harvest. "This marks the successful trial cultivation of the first batch of 'Hu seafood ' in Xinjiang, and the carefully planned special aquaculture model of 'cultivating Hu seafood in Xinjiang' has achieved the expected results," said the Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureau of Wuxing District.

The reporter learned that since the launch of the new round of counterpart aid to Xinjiang work, under the guidance of the provincial aid to Xinjiang headquarters, the Huzhou aid to Xinjiang headquarters has promoted the implementation of the "cultivating Hu seafood in Xinjiang" project and actively arranged aquaculture experts and enterprises at the city and district levels to conduct field investigations in Ganquan Town, Alar City. Combining various conditions such as local water quality, land, and temperature, they finally selected to release Leucosia whitei and Macrobrachium rosenbergiivarieties locally.

The Huzhou aid to Xinjiang headquarters introduced that in May this year, 43,500 Leucosia whitei seedlings and 1.2 million "South TaiLake No. 3" Macrobrachiumrosenbergii seedlings were delivered to Alar City, kicking off the "cultivating Hu seafood delicacies in Xinjiang" and also opening a new model of Huzhou's counterpart support work. It is worth mentioning that the Leucosia whitei is a new variety exclusively introduced by Huzhou Xielinmen Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd. from Shanghai Ocean University. At present, it is still a "limited edition" among hairy crabs. It is named for its all-white body and has only achieved mass production in Zhejiang.

The Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureau of WuxingDistrict estimates that the Leucosia whitei and Macrobrachium rosenbergii raised this year are expected to increase local income by more than CNY1 million.
