Huzhou had been a water town in the strictest sense of the word until contemporary times, as reflected in its numerous rivers and a large number of stone bridges that can still be seen today, such as the Chaoyin Bridge, Pangong Bridge, Yong'an Bridge,etc. Bridges add greatly to the scenic charm of Huzhou.
