 Huzhou Ink Brush Museum of China

  China Huzhou Writing Brush Museum, an archaized building at Lianhuazhuang Road, was opened in Sept, 2001. It is a traditional cultural museum with regional characteristics, combining the history of Huzhou Writing Brush, the process of manufacturing Writing Brush, products display and retailing. The theme sections include the Origin of Huzhou Writing Brush Hall, Huzhou Writing Brush display, manufacturing process, showing the manufacturing process and handicraft of Huzhou Writing Brush. Huzhou Writing Brush Display Hall displays more than 100 kinds of products from Wang Yipin Writing Brush Workshop, Shanlian Writing Brush Workshop and other workshops. And Huzhou Writing Brush Celebrity Hall exhibits famous writing brushes used by Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping and Jiang Zemin, and more than 80 works from other celebrities and calligraphers.

   “Four Treasures of the Study” are Huzhou Writing Brush, Hui ink, Xuan paper, and Duan inkstone, symbolizing the long and splendid Chinese civilization. The museum possesses wide educational functions, for its exhibits show the inheritance and development of Chinese culture from one side, and become the classroom for art lovers to learn from the great artists’ works along every dynasty. As a long-standing Writing Brush workshop, Wang Yipin Workshop has been awarded “China Time-honored Brand”, and its “Tianguan Brand” Writing Brushes are popular among many famous calligraphers.
