Former Residence of Zhao Mengfu
Zhao Mengfu Arts Museum, located in China Huzhou Writing Brush Museum at Lianhuazhuang Road, was built and opened to the public in Sept, 2001. It is a traditional culture museum with regional characteristics, combining the life of great artist Zhao Mengfu from Yuan Dynasty and his works. There is Zhao Mengfu Memory Hall with a copy of the inner of Songxue (Pine Snow) Study and an introduction to his artistic life, and Zhao Mengfu Ceremony Hall with the 37 calligraphy works and paintings by Zhao Mengfu and his counterparts and 38 inscriptions. Among them, there are famous treasures like his Hujia Shiba Pai, Autumn Colors on the Qiao and Hua Mountains, and A Man and His Horse in the Wind , Sunny after Snow by Wang Xizhi, Yan Qinli Stele by Yan Zhenqing, Huangzhou Cold Food by Su Shi and Fuchun Mountain Village by Huang Gongwang.
Zhao Mengfu, courtesy name Zi’ang, a native of Huzhou, was listed as one of cultural celebrities in the world. In Mercury, one of the nine planets of the solar system, there is a circle-shape mountain (whose diameter is 120 kilometers) named after him. Zhao Mengfu Arts Museum enjoys wide educational functions, for its exhibits show the inheritance and development of Chinese culture from one side, and become the classroom for art lovers.
