Project Background and Conditions: 

The ancient town of Xinshi, Deqing county was established with a history of 1,700 years. There are numerous cultural relics and historic sites in the town, where the historical blocks were well conserved. In 2008 Xinshi town was named as the famous historical and cultural town of China by the National Construction Ministry Cultural Relics Bureau. The tourism resources of the town are rich and unique and the development conditions for the ancient town are mature.                                                                          

Project Progress: 

The ancient town of Xinshi became a tourist destination to welcome the visitors from home and abroad in 2006.

Plan of Implementation:  

According to the ancient town tourism plan, the Prime Minister House and Grand Canal Quay are the major tourist sites for improvement in the southern district. In the northern district, the religious tourist attraction will be built. The investment for the tourism project totals about RMB 200 million.     

Co-operation Form: The foreign investors can either develop the project with the Chinese counterparts jointly, or set up a foreign wholly owned venture for tourism and business development.

Preferential Conditions Contributed by Chinese Partner: 

Xinshi town now has been selected in the list of the small sized pilot cities in Zhejiang province. The town has complete urban functions and busy streets. The local government is able to offer land for cooperation or for real estate development.  

Xinshi town is a famous ancient water town in the south of Yangtze river, an important place of economy, commerce and culture in the north of Zhejiang province. The town covers a total area of 92 km², with a permanent resident population of 71,000, under jurisdiction of 24 administrative village, 4 communities and one neighborhood committee. In recent years, Xinshi has been named as the key town of the nation, top-thousand town with comprehensive development for small sized cities in China, national town with beautiful environment, central town in Zhejiang province, top ten town of Huzhou municipality, sub-central city of Deqing county. In 2003, it was listed in the Huzhou Bay City System planning by the provincial government.
