In recent years, the city has deeply studied and boldly explored the mental health education work of primary and middle schools in terms of mechanism construction, team construction, and platform construction. The newly-issued Huzhou Adolescent Mental Health Protection Action Plan aims to comprehensively build the "five lines of defense", namely education and training, monitoring and early warning, poverty alleviation, intervening and adjusting, and follow-up care. Efforts have also been made on establishing and improving the “five-in-one” service system combining education, consultation, assistance, diagnosis and research so as to put mental health education work for young people in place.

Schools are adolescent mental health education. Thus the city has given full play to the school education, strengthened and standardized the construction and use of school psychological consultation rooms (stations). 100% of schools have reached the provincial-level construction standards, with 42 ones meeting or even surpassing the provincial standards for mental health education demonstration sites. For now, there are 14 psychological consultation stations at the provincial level, 42 provincial mental health education demonstration sites and one school with state-level mental health education characteristics.
