The city has completed the first dose of vaccination for 132,000 teenagers aged 12 to 17 till 5:00 pm, 11 days ahead of the provincial schedule, making it the earliest city in the province to achieve the target.

Vaccination is the most economical and effective measure to prevent and control the COVID-19 outbreak. According to the arrangement of the country and the province, to fully promote the coverage of the COVID-19 vaccination and achieve immunization in a population, Huzhou City started this work for teenagers aged 12 to 17 from August 1st.

During the process, the municipal health and education departments had held many meetings to discuss details and check the progress.

Through the joint effort of schools and communities, the city has extended publicity through multiple channels, raised the awareness and increased participation of students and parents. Meanwhile, pediatricians will serve at the vaccination sites to strengthen health care, ensuring the scientific and orderly vaccination.

Next, the city will continue to carry out the vaccination for 12- to 17-year-old teenagers in a safe and orderly manner, and strive to complete the second dose of the vaccination for teenagers from 15 to 17 by the end of August, and that for the teenagers from 12 to 14 in early September, effectively tightening the prevention and control of COVID-19 outbreak among students.
