Expanded Subsidies for Smart Home Upgrades

City has expanded its trade-in subsidy program for smart home appliances since yesterday, aimed at fostering a more consumer-friendly environment, according to the Huzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau. A total of 23 categories of smart home appliances have been eligible for immediate discount subsidies for each purchase. This round of activities will ensue until December 31st of this year, offering discounts on a daily basis from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm. The event operates on a budget system, and once the subsidy funds are exhausted in advance, the event will end immediately.

It is reported that the newly-added 10 categories for the smart home appliance trade-in program include smart dryers, smart disinfection cabinets, smart vacuum cleaners, smart air fryers, smart juicers, smart blenders, smart soy milk makers, smart coffee machines, smart food processors, and smart printers. Together with the original 13 categories, namely smart door locks (including smart burglar-proof doors), smart curtains, smart clothes dryers, smart home surveillance systems, smart lighting, smart toilets (including smart toilet seats), smart beds (including smart mattresses), smart tables and chairs (including smart massage chairs and smart sofas), smart fitness equipment, smart voice devices (including smart speakers), smart service robots (including smart sweeping robots and mopping robots), smart dishwashers, and smart steaming/baking machines, there are now a total of 23 categories eligible for subsidies. The subsidy standard is an immediate discount of 15% of the final transaction price after all discounts and promotions have been deducted. Each consumer is eligible for buying one subsidized product per category, up to a maximum subsidy of RMB 2,000 per product.
