The largemouth bass breeding team from the Aquatic Research Institute of the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences has recently established a base in Rongsheng Fisheries Co., Ltd., Nanyang Village, Lushan Town, Changxing County. Researchers are using the new generation of genome-wide selection breeding technology. They have injected PIT electronic chips into 3,000 largemouth basses, gathered phenotypic growth data, and chosen breeding parents to develop new varieties with rapid growth and rhabdovirus resistance.
