Actions of small kindness accumulated is like sand collected that would form a pagoda; sincere deeds of charity are moving upwards and forwards. As we turn the pages of Huzhou City’s Charity Calendar of 2024, we see how leading enterprises have bravely taken on social responsibilities and how thousands of households have united to help each other. Through initiatives such as poverty relief, educational assistance, medical aid, basic living support and caring for centenarians, Huzhou City is infused with a continuous flow of warmth and goodwill. Recently, Huzhou Charity Federation reported that the total donations received last year by the city's charity system amounted to CNY455 million. Expenditures on charitable assistance reached CNY427 million, and a total of 322 charity projects were implemented, benefiting 600,000 individuals.

Individuals donating a day’s income and corporations a day’s profit has become a special commitment between the City’s people and its charitable causes. During the 2024 “One-day Charity Donation” campaign, leaders from the four leading bodies of the city took the initiative by making generous donations. Government agencies, enterprises, and public institutions joined forces in this charitable effort, while various sectors of society responded enthusiastically. In particular, the  “charity + internet” platform has harnessed significant centripetal force, appeal, and action power. Over 5,500 organizations and nearly 250,000 individuals (donations) participated in the campaign, raising a total of CNY2.43 billion, creating a heartwarming and inspiring spectacle of “everyone aspiring to kindness”. While named charity funds continue to stabilize and improve, new models such as “charity + trusts,” “charity + insurance,” and “charity + ecology” are accelerating their implementation, making the “charity pie” grow ever larger.

The spirit of kindness and compassion has infused vitality and brilliance into Huzhou, a city full of warmth and courage to take on responsibilities.
