The China (Huzhou) - South Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference and Business Matching Event was recently held in Johannesburg, South Africa. Organized by the Huzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Huzhou) and the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Southern Africa, the event saw seven Huzhou enterprises gain favor from over 20 interested South African buyers, with intended procurement amount reaching more than RMB 40 million.
During the event, the CCPIT Huzhou, Huzhou Municipal Commission of Development & Reform, Changxing County, and Anji County each conducted special presentations on eight emerging industrial chains, the county-level business environment, and other topics. The CCPIT Huzhou also signed a friendship and cooperation agreement with the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Southern Africa, establishing a long-term cooperation bridge for enterprises from both regions. Some participating enterprises, such as UE Furniture Co., Ltd., and Tianneng Group, visited South African enterprises in the furniture and renewable energy sectors to gain a deeper understanding of local enterprises and products, laying the foundation for deeper cooperation.
“This event has further strengthened the close connection between Huzhou and South Africa in industries such as green furniture and renewable energy, promoting resource sharing, complementary advantages, and collaborative development between the two regions,” said the person in charge of the CCPIT Huzhou. The CCPIT Huzhou pledged to fully leverage its role in connecting governments and enterprises, facilitating domestic and foreign exchanges, and ensuring smooth supply and demand. Also, it will prioritize establishing an international economic and trade exchange platform to facilitate the development of Huzhou's open economy.
