Yesterday, the “Innovation on Taihu Lake for Smart Journey to Future” Cultural and Tourism Industry Promotion Conference was held in Changxing County. At the event, 15 cultural tourism projects were signed, with a total investment of CNY700 million. Bringing together industry experts, representatives from leading enterprises, brand operators, and creative design teams, the conference marked the official launch of the Taihu No.9 Highway Ecological Cultural Tourism Corridor construction.

To facilitate the integrated regional development of cultural tourism in the Yangtze River Delta, Changxing County is advancing the Taihu No.9 Highway Ecological Corridor, a project that connects natural landscapes and cultural heritage along the Taihu Lake shoreline to drive industrial upgrading.

It is reported that Taihu No.9 Highway connects the 31-kilometer lakeshore line of Taihu Lake in Changxing, along with National Highway 104, Changda Line, and Central Avenue, among other scenic corridors. Spanning approximately 99 kilometers and shaped like the number “9”, it is thus named Taihu No. 9 Highway. The highway traverses 88 natural villages and links 111 tourist attractions. Through an integrated development model combining “ecology, cultural tourism, and industry”, the county has established a cohesive framework referring to “Guided by One Corridor, Driven by Two Cores, and Supported by Three Clusters”, thus creating a model of sustainable living that embodies “Xing” (a nod to both Changxing’s prosperity and vitality).

On the same day, the “Investment Promotion Map for Taihu No.9 Highway” was released at the conference. With the core concept of “integrating road and scenery, and coexisting industries and cities”, it leverages the unique resources along the highway to lay out new cultural tourism formats. Changxing County also simultaneously launched the “Taihu No.9 Highway Co-construction Plan”, which will integrate resources from government, enterprises, academia, and research institutions to promote the coordinated development of the cultural tourism industry along the highway.
