The 2025 Green Low-Carbon Innovation Conference Opened in Huzhou

Yesterday morning, on the occasion of the upcoming 3rd National Ecology Day, the 2025 Green Low-Carbon Innovation Conference opened in Huzhou under the theme "Technological Innovation Driving Green Transformation and Development". Participants at the opening ceremony included Chen Qingcang, Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Liu Zhenmin, China's Special Envoy for Climate Change Affairs; Luo Hui, Member of the Leading Party Group of the China Association for Science and Technology(CAST) and head of its International Cooperation Department; Si Jianmin, Vice Chairman of the 13th Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress and Chairman of the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology(ZJAST); Erik Solheim, former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations; Chiang Choong Luin, President of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia; Chen Hao, Secretary of the Huzhou Municipal Party Committee; Lian Kunming, Deputy Secretary of the Huzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor. The opening ceremony was chaired by Wu Xiaodong, Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of the ZJAST.

The ceremony was also attended by Huzhou municipal leaders Wu Zhiyong and Jin Kai. Other participants included academicians and experts from China and abroad, representatives from domestic and international academic societies, research institutions, and enterprises, as well as officials from relevant provincial and municipal departments.

The conference was jointly organized by the China Centre for International Science and Technology Exchange, ZJASTthe CPC Huzhou Municipal Committee, and Huzhou Municipal People's Government. The event featured one plenary session, five thematic seminars, and multiple local empowerment activities supporting green transformation and development. During the conference, several public engagement activities will be conducted simultaneously, including the CAST Summer Camp for Young Science and Technology Volunteers and the "Green Huzhou, Exploring a Low-Carbon Future" 2025 Green Low-Carbon Citizen Initiative. These programs aim to guide the public in adopting green low-carbon production and lifestyle practices and deepen ecological civilization awareness throughout society.
